Writers will stay at the Bellevue Bed and Breakfast in the seaside village of Myrtleville, overlooking the Celtic Sea.
We will take day trips to Lismore Castle and gardens; Mizen Head, the southernmost tip of Ireland; Kinsale, home
of Charles Fort and Desmond Castle; the stone circle of Drombeg; the city of Cork. We also will spend a half-day
whale and dolphin watching out of Kinsale Harbor.

Writing emphasis will be on non-fiction, creative non-fiction, and personal essays.
The workshop will include:
• Daily morning group workshops
• One-on-one consultations with the instructors
• Mornings and evenings devoted to writing
• Excursions to explore the Irish countryside
• Evening group reading and discussion of participants’ work

Faculty:  Linda Watanabe McFerrin  and  Joanna Biggar (see Instructores)
All participants will have the opportunity to work with both instructors.

Dates: June 25 through July 4, 2007

Publication: Each participant may submit one or two 1,500 to 3,000 word essays or short stories about some
